Don't wait... reach for the sky at the EAA Air Academy Camp

Posted by Betty Keil - Webmaster on January 30, 2017 at 5:25 PM

UPDATE: We are so excited! We will be posting the lucky candidate going to the Air Academy Camp VERY SOON!

The EAA Air Academy is an exciting aviation summer camp for young people.

It takes place at EAA's Headquarters in Oshkosh, WI - The Center of the Aviation Universe!

The camp is based in the beautiful Air Academy Lodge where campers will eat, sleep and make great friends! The Lodge is next to the runway at Pioneer Airport.

Everyday is filled with aviation activities, like working as a team in the flight simulators. Students learn a lot about how things fly... and make lots of flying things of their own. They get "up close" to over a hundred different airplanes in the EAA Museum.

The highlight of the entire week at EAA Air Academy is a real airplane flight!

Reach for the sky... and make great friends and learn about the exciting world of aviation!

After the great success of our Silent Auction at the Pancake Breakfast this past May, our EAA chapter has decided to help send a young woman or young man aged 16 thru 18 to the Advanced Air Academy in Oshkosh Wisconsin for the summer of 2017.

We are very excited and would like to thank YOU and the local Lapeer businesses for the generous donations!

During this year and up till EARLY IN 2017 our EAA Chapter will be actively looking for young men and women with an avid interest of a possible future in aviation.

Posted above is a “link” to a Questionnaire Type Survey with a series of questions to be answered by each interested young man or young woman. Please answer this Survey as soon as possible.

Please watch for ongoing details on our Facebook Page.

We will then announce the choice of that lucky young man or lady EARLY IN 2017. We will also place that announcement on our Facebook page as well.

There is a Scholarship Fund in place to help with the cost of the Air Academy.
