EAA Air Academy Candidate Chosen

Posted by Betty Keil - Webmaster on February 15, 2017 at 3:35 PM

We are very proud to announce that our EAA Chapter will be sponsering Phil Fietko to attend the EAA Air Academy Camp 2017

Phil is a 18 years old, lives in Lapeer County and is very excited about being chosen to go to the camp this year!

To help fund his flying lessons he has been working after school and on weekends. Another way to keep himself close to airplanes and to help with flying costs, Phil packs parachutes for a local skydiving club.

His desire is to go into the military... "the Navy or the Air Force" he says. He is a busy young man!

Our Chapter President Jack Lewis: "I am really optimistic that he will bring a lot to the camp and will gain even more through the Academy experience to help move him forward toward his aviation goals".

We look forward to his Air Academy Camp experience this coming year and will share his feedback and hopefully some photos of his stay in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Congratulations Phil. This can be a great step forward on your way into the world of aviation. Always fly high and swift with blue skies and steady tail winds.
